I have wanted to share some thoughts for a while, but haven’t got around to it

A plus side of the current world situation, means I can finally get around to this kind of thing.

I don’t feel like I take much for granted but when something like this happens it certainly brings everything into sharp focus.

I expect and hope that many of you will already know that I am a Christian. Although I admit I haven’t always been very good at communicating why I believe what I believe and perhaps just how important it is to me, and yet my faith has been instrumental in every decision I have made for many years.

I was 15 when I committed my life to Jesus, but then I lived a selfish, me-focused life for many years before realising it was not actually fulfilling and that I truly wanted to know and to follow His plan for my life, not just my own ideas.

I realised that if I believe Jesus was who he said he is, which I did, then I couldn’t pick and choose the bits of his teachings that I like.

Of course you never ‘arrive’ in terms of a relationship with God, just as you never finish learning and growing in our relationships with others, but I do know who I belong to, and where I am going, which does gives me a deep sense of peace.

So I would love to ask you one simple question;

Who do you think Jesus is?

Do you think he was who he said he was?

If so then for me at least that meant I couldn’t ignore what he said.   That he lived, walked and breathed there is no doubt, but what he said, really didn’t leave us many choices.

Either he was who he said he was or he was a madman, but if a madman then why did so many people follow him and believe what he said and why are we still discussing him 2000 years later!

If you don’t know Jesus, but you want to then you can meet him right now.  All it takes is to ask him to reveal himself to you and he will.

To follow Jesus, is not a light decision to make, you do have to be prepared to give up your life to live a new life that he will guide you in, but the rewards are huge, eternal life and a sense of purpose to life on earth among them!
